It's a Marvelous Night For a Moondance...

Who: Robin and Marian
When: the night of the party
Where: mostly the corridor around their rooms, third floor of the main house
What: meeting up to go to the party
The unfamiliar outfit and shoes Robin discovered at the back of his closet had stayed there, untouched, since he found them. He figured they were there by mistake, perhaps belonging to a former resident, and had thought little more about them until the invitation for the party went up. He had no idea, really, what would constitute formal dress to most of the people here, but those garments looked fairly formal; and, when he tried them on, he was surprised to find that they fit perfectly.
Well, he would just chalk it up to one more mystery of this place.
Most of it was self-explanatory, and reminded him that he needed to get down to the basement and see what sorts of clothing he might find there. While the neck of the shirt fit well enough, he found it much more comfortable to leave the top two buttons open, and hoped that would be acceptable. One thing, which seemed like an unevenly-cut scarf, he could not get to look quite right, so he finally abandoned it on his bed. Glancing at himself in the long mirror that hung in his bathroom, he hoped this would do, and went to find Marian.
Locking his door behind him, he went over to hers, and raised his hand to knock.

"You may," she returned, slipping her arm through his when he offered it. The smile she gave him might not have been as warm as his own had been, but it was the best she could do, at the moment. With her other hand she pulled the door to her room closed behind her.
